About Us
The White Rose Bus Group was founded in Oct 2018 with five members and five buses who had a vision to do things differently. Our first site was located close to Selby and was literally some wooden posts in the ground and a roof. With no doors, side structures, windows or services, to say the least we were fully exposed to the elements, so we needed to look for better storage premises. The main objective had been achieved, the Group had been formed.
In 2019 we were approached by the landlord of a livery yard near Wakefield who was looking for someone to take on a bigger and much better storage facility. We went to view the facility and instantly recognised the potential and future growth of the group. We did a deal with the landlord the very same day. Later that year the Group had grown from five to twenty five members, of which twenty three were Bus owners. Unfortunately, things do not last forever. By 2022 new owners had taken over the livery yard and our old buses were no longer welcome, so once again we had to find new storage premises. Good fortune shone upon us and we managed to secure a storage facility once again very near Selby and the group now rents storage facilities at Whitley Bridge.
Membership of The White Rose Bus Group is not limited to those who have a historic or modern day vehicle that needs storing. General membership is available to those who wish to get involved with vehicle preservation without having to buy a vehicle of their own, by helping out at the storage facility, learning how things are done and expanding your own knowledge. We are not limited just to buses as members also have trucks and cars of various ages.
